This piece was my contribution to the art collective Brand New Nostalgia this week, whose theme was “Psychobilly Culture”. I initially began a piece that was much different than this and was more focused around the idea of gambling, but it shifted during the process to this concept. Based on feedback, I would like to have this available as a print at cons, so please let me know if this is something you’d be interested in. Enjoy!
You can also get prints of it here, http://society6.com/aerodynamicmountains/Psychobilly-IzG_Print including t-shirts and iPhone cases.
As some of you may know, I’ve been involved with the group “Brand New Nostalgia”, which is run by my great friend Andrew MacLean. Every week there is a new theme for us to tackle and make a new piece of art inspired from, but recently I’ve been super busy working on the comic “Re-Pro-Duct” that I’m making with the very talented Austin Wilson. I just finished issue 2, which opened up the opportunity for me to finally produce a piece for BNN, but since I am so late, I decided to combine two of the weeks’ themes I missed previously. In this case it was boxing and mustache. This piece was also created for a design competition I’ll be entering for June. I hope you enjoy the insanity of the age old battle of Folk vs. Metal.

Sample from the next 6 pieces in my stock illustration series. I’ll be posting the set once I’m done with them all, just like the first batch. Stay tuned!
Here are the final illustrations of the first 6 stock photo images that I will be using for ImageZoo.com Their titles are as follows; “Brainfood”, “Healthy Heart”, “Nutrient Supplements”, “Robot Love”, “Song Bird” and “Vanity”. There are going to be 18 in total once my portfolio on the site is created. The next themes consist of nerds, muscle men, babes, guitars and buildings. Keep posted!

As promised, here is the final illustration for the “Milkbread” poster. They will be selling copies of this print at their upcoming shows, where I’m sure they’d be more than happy to sign it. If you like jazz, please check them out here, http://milkbreadmusic.com/
You can also get a print of this piece from my online store; http://society6.com/aerodynamicmountains/Milkbread-band-poster_Print
Hope you like it!

I was recently commissioned to do a band poster for the jazz ensemble, “Milkbread”. They are based in Newport, RI and consist of eight members, each of which I have depicted here. Since I love classic jazz posters from the 20’s, I decided to go for a modern day adaptation of that traditional aesthetic. To this black and white line drawing I will be adding a layer of mid-tones. This piece will then be sold at their upcoming shows. Hope you like it!

I’ve been working closely with the Boston based band The Shills to design their new album “Keep Your Hands Busy” that will be releasing later this year. And since the album’s themes stray to the darker side of life, the idea behind this design was to create a collage of hands doing various activities to essentially distract oneself from the variety of miseries that plague us all in life; internally and externally. Making it a very clear theme that we can all relate to.

I’ve been doing a lot of music related art these past couple of months apparently because here is yet another band’s album art. They’re name is Choose to Find and they’re a Boston based band who are slated to release their new studio album in 2012. They sound like a mixture of Explosions in the Sky with a side of Mogwai; lots of build up and powerful sounds that are almost always driven by an eruption of emotion. This concept for the cover was developed from the spiritual feel that Choose to Find engrosses me with and that I have embodied as a tree spirit like creature who brings beauty (the music in this case) to the world during the depths of winter. His design was loosely based on the Creatures in Hayao Miyazaki films. There will also be typography added later on once the album’s release draws closer.
A few months ago I was contacted by a woman named Gina who was organizing an art gallery that was to represent the newest Say Anything album. She had previously interviewed the band’s lead singer and songwriter, Max Bemis, who inspired her to create the show in the first place. The concept was a unique one; to reach out to several artists, asking each of them to create one piece. Each artist was given a song title from the album to work from. It could either be a literal interpretation or an inspired piece. I was given “Hate Everyone”, the second song on the album. At first I developed several concepts that revolved around the idea of children being picked on by their peers, but in time I ultimately rein-visioned the concept as an older girl, still tormented by life and reflecting (no pun intended) her inner most thoughts while adorning herself with make-up for a job she despises. And in some weird way, I feel it matches the song perfectly.

A caricaturization of my neighbor(s) based on the quality of music I typically hear emitting from the walls and basement of my room.
Black and white version of a piece I am doing for an artists collective gallery show. It is going to be 13 artists representing each a different song from the newest Say Anything album. This one is an illustration for the track titled “Hate Everyone”.
Recently finished designing an album jacket for my friend Ryan Davison’s band “The Frog” based out of Beverly, MA. Check them out at http://thefrog.bandcamp.com/. It’s very fun, quirky indie music that definitely displays an interesting personality.
A poster I made for an upcoming Fleet Foxes show that will be hosted in Holyoke, MA with The Walkman. The idea spurred from the idea of acoustic guitar sessions being played around a fire in the woods; a very fall like endeavor to mirror the feelings I get from the Fleet Foxes sound. I also rather imagined the beauty of the music as a spiritual guide of a fox that could help both lead your way and control the fire that may lie inside you.
