So, not that either of these characters are related in any way other than the fact they’re both Marvel properties, but I’m posting them together because they were gifts for my brother, who I just visited this weekend. Knowing he was/is a huge comic book fan, I wanted to give him some personalized art as a much belated Christmas present. By his request, the characters he wanted were Dr. Doom and Scarlet Witch (having just failed to win the lottery on repeated attempts). They were a ton of fun to do and I always love doing commissions for people, so I wanted to share them. Hope you like them!

A piece I contributed to my good friend Scott K. Monteiro’s upcoming book “Rex Nocturnus”. To see more about the upcoming book, check out http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1821046368/rex-nocturnus and hellp show your support. For the last week or so I’ve been working on some designs for a website. They are Boston based start-up company that deals with finding and comparing auto-repair shops’ pricing and availability. This illustration was for the homepage. The first one I did on the left was a bit too “my style” and didn’t quite fit the feel we were going for on the site. The second one was the revamped version that was a bit more architectural and sleek, which better fir the style we were aiming for. Each one stays true to and represents the overall palette of the page.

The final inking for a piece I am doing. The theme is “space” so I’ve decided to illustrate a brontosaurus in an astronaut’s uniform. This idea stems from a children’s book idea I’ve been developing for some time now and I thought this would be a good opportunity to start working on some character designs. Stay tuned; the final illustration will be full-color and posted here on Monday.

As promised, here is the final illustration for the “Milkbread” poster. They will be selling copies of this print at their upcoming shows, where I’m sure they’d be more than happy to sign it. If you like jazz, please check them out here, http://milkbreadmusic.com/

You can also get a print of this piece from my online store; http://society6.com/aerodynamicmountains/Milkbread-band-poster_Print

Hope you like it!

Portrait of my mother that I’m making her for Christmas.

And here is the colored version of me getting punched so you can really make out what is blood and what is my face. Take note, there is in fact a tooth in the spatter and the lack of one in my mouth. This is a typical morning for me in Boston by the way.

Here is a black and white ink drawing of a robot design for a project I am working on currently. I’ve also begun adding washes of gray to my typical black and white images to give a feeling of wear or grime, and I believe it has been coming out quite well.
