Since doing the triptic group of X-Men character sketches, I decided to do another, but this time of Batman related characters; Batman, Robin, and Batgirl. This was inspired by the most recent New 52 series that DC released last year, which has continued to be stellar. Maybe someday I’ll get to work on Batman, for real :(
I did this Margot (& Richie) Tenenbaum illustration for an upcoming “pop-culture romances” Valentine’s Day gallery show in New York at the Bottleneck Gallery. It was either this or The White Stripes; ether way I was for whatever reason interested in the brother/sister relationships. I’m happy that they went with The Royal Tenenbaums though. Finally got to tackle doing some art in tribute to one of my all-time favorite movies.
Over the past couple of nights I was inspired by the Uncanny X-Force series to sketch some of my favorite X-Men characters; none of which are actually in the X-Force. These were a lot of fun and I would love to do a few more characters, but I’m not entirely sure which ones yet. I’ll probably start with Nightcrawler, but I’m totally open to suggestions if anyone would like to see my rendition of a character from X-Men. Enjoy!

A little guy I’ve titled “Skull Kid”, which I did for fun last night. Feel free to come up with some fan fiction - I’d love to read what sort of stories this character inspires :)
About two weeks ago I did a variant cover design for the Bravest Warriors comic #7. The folks at Comic Alliance put up a preview here http://www.comicsalliance.com/2013/01/09/bravest-warriors-7-cover-art-preview/. I had no idea how much darker my concept was than the others until they were all placed alongside each other, but I guess that’s to be expected from me. Also, I’ve attached the original concept I did as well as the printed one. Originally, Danny was giving the finger to his broken suit and the leaking air, but ultimately had to cut it since the comics are intended for all ages… unlike the show.
Two quick character sketches I did in the past two days just for fun. I usually try to do a sketch at night before going to bed - maybe 15-30 minutes each.
A quick character sketch I did a few nights ago before going to bed. Just wanted to do something for fun.
Last week I did a cover for Boston circular The WeeklyDig’s winter issue. I’ve put the original illustration alongside the printed design. Hope it helps to get people into the holiday spirit!

Earlier this month I designed a Mass Effect themed screen-print poster for Bioware. I wasn’t allowed to reveal any details until… now! After several concepts for poster ideas, they decided to go with a simple portrait of the character Garrus, who just so happens to be my favorite character from the series. They will be printing a limited batch, which will all be hand signed by me personally.
To preorder your copy today, please just go to Bioware’s shop: http://biowarestore.com/art/screenprints/garrus-screenprint-poster.html
Months ago I had begun working on a short 12 page comic with my friend and writer Austin Wilson (austinRwilson.tumblr.com) for an anthology piece inspired by “Metal”. That project ended up falling through along with the already illustrated pages. I wasn’t sure what was going to come of the project, so I had not touched the pages since. Recently however, I’ve decided to finish the comic and have begun adding color. I plan to sell it as a mini and use it as a fun promotional piece for various cons. Here is a preview from a full colored page in the story.

I was honored to have made a pin-up piece for the upcoming run of Image comics’ Luther Strode series by the great team of Tradd Moore and Justin Jordan. This is a new character, thus I decided to stay relatively true to her design for now at least. I can safely say the book is looking phenomenal! Definitely keep an eye out if you’re interested in great art and a great story!
I am contributing two original pieces for a gallery show coming up in December that is entirely devoted to the concept of “The End”. We were welcome to do anything revolving around the concept, including the positive aspects, such as the end of war, the end of a bad relationship, or the end of a journey. But of course, as things go, I decided to once again go the darker route and chose to show an anguished end - a girl whose decided to commit suicide on her wedding night. I thought the idea behind despair is always more interesting and illusive than a joyful conclusion, which usually has a very clear message. This image allows for reflection on ones self. I didn’t necessarily want to go the end of the world route, since that is so overdone at this point, thought in a literal sense, this kind of outcome is technically “The End” since it ultimately eliminated her life, which is the only world she knows. And ultimately, the end of the world comes with ones own death.

PS: I included the black and white line drawing as well since I thought it was interesting and would give an insight to my stages when working.
This is a group of selected sketches that I’ve done over the past few weeks. I’ve tried to keep fresh ideas flowing by drawing in my sketchbook as consistently as I can - hopefully several times a week. None of these are for a specific project and were just used as fun warm-up sketches. I hope you all enjoy them! I’ll have a new batch to come as soon as I can.
Also, I’ve recently got my personal website redesigned and reposted, so please check it out here - www.loganfaerber.com - and if you’re interested in more sketches like the one’s I’ve posted here, please follow me on twitter @loganfaerber
Thanks everyone! - Logan
I was contacted by the Drawing Dreams Foundation over the past weekend, who asked if I would be interested in contributing two line drawings for their upcoming coloring book. It’s a zoo themed coloring book, but they wanted all of the animals to be imaginary blends of preexisting animals. Below each illustration would be a blank space designated by a line where the kids can give the creature a name. The coloring books will be donated and distributed to hospitalized children and sold online, at selective retail venues, and at hospital and museum gift shops. Proceeds from online and retail sales will help fund printing costs and distribution to children’s hospitals. I’m very pleased to have helped with such a great idea and can’t wait to see what the kids think or what other creatures might develop for the final book release in December.
