Following my previous Umbrella Academy related post, I did yet another character; Spaceboy.
A piece I contributed to my good friend Scott K. Monteiro’s upcoming book “Rex Nocturnus”. To see more about the upcoming book, check out http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1821046368/rex-nocturnus and hellp show your support. A little guy I’ve titled “Skull Kid”, which I did for fun last night. Feel free to come up with some fan fiction - I’d love to read what sort of stories this character inspires :)
A quick character sketch I did a few nights ago before going to bed. Just wanted to do something for fun.
I was contacted by the Drawing Dreams Foundation over the past weekend, who asked if I would be interested in contributing two line drawings for their upcoming coloring book. It’s a zoo themed coloring book, but they wanted all of the animals to be imaginary blends of preexisting animals. Below each illustration would be a blank space designated by a line where the kids can give the creature a name. The coloring books will be donated and distributed to hospitalized children and sold online, at selective retail venues, and at hospital and museum gift shops. Proceeds from online and retail sales will help fund printing costs and distribution to children’s hospitals. I’m very pleased to have helped with such a great idea and can’t wait to see what the kids think or what other creatures might develop for the final book release in December. The Shadow commission piece I recently did. I really loved the old pulp comic feel, but I wanted to add more intensity to the character this time around. It was also composed to work as a variant cover or as a pin-up. I’m really glad that the comic world has brought this classic character back successfully. -L
This was a commission piece that I received while at Heroes Con last weekend. Instead of doing a traditional pin-up for Abe Sapien, I decided to place him underwater, clutched by a monster’s tentacles who is dragging him further under. I wanted it to feel more like a full page spread of a cover rather than just a bust, which I would love to do as well in the near future. I may also decide to color this illustration in time, but for now I will leave it as an intense black and white piece. -Logan
Just wanted to share one of my commission pieces because it was of a character I hadn’t heard from in a long while; Static Shock. I remember watching this show back in 2000 when it was introduced. What ever happened to this superhero? He even fought alongside the JLA at one point or another. Maybe the economy got to him and the Justice League had to lay him off? We may never know. - L
I’ll be taking commissions for the Heroes Con either before, during or after the event. If before, I can have the piece ready for pickup at the booth, but any of the above are good. If interested please just contact me at loganfaerber@gmail.com or via twitter @LoganFaerber and I will get right back to you! All the details are broken down here…
Heroes Con Advance Commissions
Heroes Con is a great show to pick up art. There are a ton of artists of all styles there, so there is something for everyone. In fact, Heroes Con has so much going on, it’s hard to do/see it all. So, to make sure you can get the sketch or commission you want, a few of the OOSA artists are taking advance commissions that will be ready for you to pick up at the convention. No waiting and no missing out because the lists are full or you just plain didn’t have enough time to get around to asking for one.Andrew MacLean’s rates

This piece was my contribution to the art collective Brand New Nostalgia this week, whose theme was “Psychobilly Culture”. I initially began a piece that was much different than this and was more focused around the idea of gambling, but it shifted during the process to this concept. Based on feedback, I would like to have this available as a print at cons, so please let me know if this is something you’d be interested in. Enjoy!
You can also get prints of it here, http://society6.com/aerodynamicmountains/Psychobilly-IzG_Print including t-shirts and iPhone cases.
So, not that this is a finished piece by any means (but it is for an undisclosed project I’m working on), I thought it was pretty funny on its own, so I decided to do a quick post today. This is actually one layer of three in the final piece, but for now, enjoy this awkward segment.

Here’s a preview of a single page spread from issue 2 of “Re-pro-duct”. The second issue is fully written and is almost completely inked, so it won’t be long before you can get your hands on both of the first issues. Each comic is 24pgs, so there’s a lot to see, meet and enjoy! Check them out! Thanks everyone!
Once again you can download our first issue for FREE from the 215Ink App found for the iPad in the iTunes store! ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/215-ink/id449585609?mt=8 ) The printed edition of the first issue will be available soon and I will be selling and signing copies at the upcoming Heroes Con in North Carolina!
Here is the first page of a 12pg comic that I’m working on for another anthology. This one deals with the theme of “Metal”, and the story that I and Austin Wilson, aka “Hideous Energy”, are working on is titled “Six Barrel Shotgun”. The story opens with a large one page spread of the heroine named “Crater”. Tune in to find out more in the coming weeks! It’s going to be brutal. -L
The final inking for a piece I am doing. The theme is “space” so I’ve decided to illustrate a brontosaurus in an astronaut’s uniform. This idea stems from a children’s book idea I’ve been developing for some time now and I thought this would be a good opportunity to start working on some character designs. Stay tuned; the final illustration will be full-color and posted here on Monday.
